About FjordWorld.Com

FjordWorld is a web site to bring Norwegian Fjord Horse breeders and owners together on the world wide web. A place to find all you need to know about Norwegian Fjord Horses and Ponies. A place for breeders to have their very own web site. A place for individual members to host a page and share their love of Norwegian Fjord Horses. A place to find your very own Fjord to buy. A place to sell your Fjord.

Most of the information on the General Information pages will come from the Fjord Horse List (listserver). 50 to 100 messages are posted to this list server on a daily basis. I get the messages and re-post those that I deem informational on these pages. Messages that relate to Fjord For Sale, Fjord Wanted, upcoming Fjord events, and some posts that I consider 'classics'. Click on the banner above to visit that site and sign-up. Visit the pages listed under 'General Information' to see the re-posted messages by category.

I utilize a Webblog service from WebCrimson.com to maintain these information pages. Click on their logo to see what it is all about.

Hosted & Sponsored Breeders will get access to the For Sale Page to automatically add their Fjords for sale . It is an easy process that will allow you to add your information without having to know html.

Membership is currently free. Membership will get you a single page. It will be located and named http://www.fjordworld.com/member/yourname . I am currently using a 'Webblog' service which will allow you to manage and maintain your page yourself. It is very easy and requires a simple signup process to get you started. Membership will also get you an email address (name@fjordworld.com) that can be forwarded to your internet service provider's email address.

Membership is open to anyone with an interest in Norwegian Fjord Horses and Ponies.

Breeders can start small by becoming a member and having a free page. If they chose to have a full blown web site of their own, I can build one and host it at nominal charges ($40 - $80 per year). Just email me with your specific desires at info @ fjordworld . com

Hosting will get you two POP email addresses that you can view online by going to http://www.fjordworld.com/up . You will type in your name and password and be able to manage your email similar to a hotmail email account. These email accounts can also be forwarded to your ISP's email address. Your hosted web site would be named www.fjordworld.com/yourfarmname . This will allow for easy access and no need to register and maintain an internet name and address on the web.

Hosted Breeder sites will be listed on each and every Fjordworld page as a link and is included with the hosting charge. Your sites can have any 'look and feel' that you desire. It does not necessarily have to follow the FjordWorld look and feel.

For sites that I do not host, you can become a 'Sponsor Breeder'. This will get your link on all pages. The charge for this service will be $50 per year.

Each individual State or Province page can be sponsored by any breeder or individual. Sponsorships will last 6 months and cost $25. See the Michigan Page for an example.

I currently fund this site myself until I start getting enough revenue to cover my costs. If you are a breeder or seller and happen to sell a fjord to someone as a result of this site please think about sending me a thank you card and a 10 or 20 spot to help offset the monthly web site hosting fee.
